プレイヤーに厳しい決断を迫るDON'T NODの新作「Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden」の最新トレイラー公開

　フランスのゲームスタジオDON'T NODは，2024年2月14日発売予定のアクションRPG「Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden」（PC / PS5 / Xbox Series X|S）のストーリーを紹介する最新トレイラーを公開した。

　「Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden」は，悪霊たちの跋扈する1695年のニューエデンという地域を舞台にしたタイトルで，主人公のアンテア・デュアルテ（Antea Duarte）とレッド・マックレイス（Red mac Raith）は，ゴーストハンターである「バニッシャー」の中では師と弟子，私生活では恋人同士だ。ある日，危険な任務で致命傷を負ったアンテアは，倒すべき悪霊の1人となってしまう。
　レッドは，彼女を死の世界に送るべきか，それとも，バニッシャーの掟を破って，生きた人間から精魂を奪い取るか，物語の中で何度も難しい選択を迫られることになるが，その選択が物語にさまざまな影響を及ぼしていくという。


　寡作ながら，スクウェア・エニックスと組んだ「ライフ イズ ストレンジ」シリーズで知名度を大きく上げ，性的マイノリティを描いた「Tell Me Why」が話題になっただけに，現代モノのアドベンチャーが得意というイメージもあるDON'T NOD。とはいえ，振り返ってみれば，心ならずも吸血鬼になってしまった医師を描くアクションRPG「Vampyr」や，カプコンがパブリッシングを行った近未来アクション「Remember Me」など，制作するゲームの幅は広く多彩だ。
　残念ながら現段階で日本語には対応していないものの，アクションを重視しつつ，プレイヤーに重い決断を迫る「Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden」のリリースを楽しみにしたい。
