HL2拡張パック「Episode One」，5月1日にダウンロード販売開始

　Valveは，「Half-Life 2: Episode One」（邦題 ハーフライフ 2 エピソード1）のSteamを介したプレロードを，5月1日（アメリカ時間）に開始すると発表した。プレロードとは先行ダウンロード販売のことで，本作の発売日である6月1日にロックが解除されることにより，プレイ可能となる。

　Episode Oneは，FPSの人気作「Half-Life 2」に登場したアレックスを主人公とする拡張パックで，本編のストーリーの“その後”が描かれる。なお本作の動作には，Half-Life 2本体は必要ない。
　タイトルからも読み取れるように，拡張パックがエピソード形式でシリーズ化されることが決まっており，すでに「Half-Life 2: Episode Two」の開発が進められている。
